Corporate Chef Jobs description

A corporate chef mostly caters to the executive directors and the overseas guests of a corporate house. The knowledge and experience needed to become a corporate chef includes inventory control and food costing, purchasing, food and kitchen safety, menu design and planning, employee supervision and development, staffing and scheduling, and decision making.

Corporate chefs usually come with 8-10 years of culinary experience in a branded hotel, full service restaurant, corporate house, or in-flight services. Employers prefer candidates who are innovative and experienced in fusion cuisines. Since the overseas guests may come from any part of the globe, corporate chefs are required to be trained in and have sufficient knowledge of multi-ethnic cuisines. Corporate chefs are also required to be quality and calorie conscious.

A corporate chef should possess good leadership skills; have a positive attitude; and should have the ability to work hands-on. He/ she should be highly energized and passionate toward the job. He/she should also have good etiquette and manners and be very hospitable in nature. Most corporate chefs take keen interest in interacting with guests. This helps them arrive at what exactly the guests want. Corporate chefs are also required to have good communication skills in order to answer culinary-related questions, should a guest ask.
