University Commercial Services Plymouth Ltd's (UCSPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary company of The University of Plymouth. UCSP’s vision is to enrich the experience of the students, staff and wider community. We aim to create a financially sustainable and professional service, which currently includes Early Years Education and Care, Retail Catering, Hospitality and Events. We are looking to recruit an individual to the Chef de Partie Lead role based at ‘The Bistro’ at Plymouth Science Park, a vibrant and thriving community located in the North of the city, near Derriford Hospital. We are excited to start a new and exciting venture between UCSP Ltd, The University of Plymouth and Plymouth Science Park to open and operate a café in a unique setting serving local, fresh and sustainable produce. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in cooking and working in a kitchen to join the team and create inspiring menus. We seek to use local, fresh, seasonal and sustainable produce in all of our dishes and the you must have a passion and drive to produce menus in line with modem food trends. We offer increased annual leave and sickness benefits with length of service and employer pension contributions of 5%. This is a full-time position working 37 hours a week, for 52 weeks a year on a permanent basis. You will have an experience of working in a variety of different styles of catering units, have a customer-focussed mind-set and strive to deliver on and exceed students, staff and visitor’s expectations. A flexible approach to hours and work is essential, as is adaptability and the ability to work on different menus and concepts, whilst maintaining high standards and all times.
