The Executive Chef at this\ncommunity will be involved with and responsible to manage the daily\noperations of the kitchen, implement production processes, provide\noversight to catering events, properly manage food and labor costs and\nhave a through working understanding of HACCP, all to exceed resident\nand client expectations. Best qualified candidate possesses excellent\nleadership and communication skills. It will be required that this\nposition be hands on during resident and client functions to produce\noutstanding and high quality food and dining experiences.
The\nExecutive Chef will have skills to develop menus for all dining\nevents. The ability to handle multiple priorities is\nhelpful.
Reporting to the General Manager, the ideal candidate for\nthis position will have a strong culinary background with 5 or more\nyears food management experience. Will supervise and support the\nproduction functions of a kitchen staff of 7-10 employees, and will\nhave the ability to motivate employees to continually improve\nperformance and outcomes with a passion for preparing and executing\noutstanding dining experiences. The adherence to proper food handling\nand proper safety programs is critical to success.
Experience in a\nhealth care environment is ideal. Working knowledge of web based\nprograms is needed to be successful. The ideal candidate will have\nprevious experience with Department of Health regulatory guidelines\nand be flexible with work hours.

Designs, supervises,\ncoordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen\npersonnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as\nthe technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks\nwithin the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for\nclients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP,\noversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory\ncontrols, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost\nissues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May\ncook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and\ncooks reporting to this position.
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or\nVocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic\nFunctional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary\nservices including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services,\ninstitutional services, mall food courts, etc.
