Unit Description:

Senior Living is seeking a Chef Manager to become part of a 200 resident skilled nursing and assisted living community, Country Meadows, located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This Chef Manager will support the community dining venues and manage the day to day operations with efficiency using ideal and company standards of excellence.
This opportunity is an entry level hands-on leadership position which will focus on a culinary team of five to provide the best dining experience for our residents. The ideal candidate will have a culinary degree, valid Serv-safe certificate, excellent knowledge of food presentations, fundamental culinary knowledge, food and labor management systems experience, strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with several generations in the workplace. Best qualified candidate will possess excellent leadership and communication skills and will be hands on during dining experiences where the position will interface with the client and residents on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience with Department of Health regulatory guidelines and be flexible with work hours. Scheduled days and shifts will vary with main shift being 5:30am - 2:00pm and include rotating weekend and holiday management coverage.

Position Summary
Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to GM.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
