Prepare meals in accordance with approved menus. Interact with the nursing supervisor, patient care secretary, and dietician to ensure food service needs are being met.
Ensure that state and federal regulations are followed including the maintenance of a clean, safe environment for the storage, preparation and handling of food. Manage related expenditures in a fiscally responsible manner in accordance with the Company’s budget.
Company's Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:
Minimum age requirement of 18.
•High school graduate or equivalent.
Maintain current food handler’s card.
Minimum of one-year experience as a cook in a healthcare facility.
Knowledge of dietary procedures including therapeutic diets, standards of sanitation and quality standards of good food service.
Ability to make simple calculations and follow instructions.
Ability to work within an interdisciplinary setting.
Compliance with accepted professional standards and practices.
Physical exam in accordance with state law requirements.
Satisfactory references from employers and/or professional peers.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling all obligations.
